We are seeking support for 60 survivors of sexual violence for our project of psycho social assistance. We are providing counselling services and referral to health practitioners; still they need payment fees for services offered. As you may know, in the DRC as in other countries of the world where war exist there is culminating level of violence that makes belligerents to use rape as a weapon of war. That is true for the South Kivu province where armed groups and regular armies operate each on its way to repress maintaining control.
What is your project and how will it help?
The project aim at providing medical assistance to 60 women, targeted survivors of sexual violence and to refer them to structures whereby they can get assistance and healing. The selected women come from Fizi and neighboring villages where there is no health services provision. These comprise 2 ethnic groups; Bembe and Banyamulenge people.
The project will help to make mutual understanding and collaboration between the two ethnic groups which have been in conflicts for decades.
