Caritas Sudan, also known as Sudanaid, works in emergency aid, social welfare and development. A major element of its work involves the joint Darfur programme launched by the Caritas Internationalis Confederation and Action by Churches Together (ACT). Working alongside local partners, Caritas Sudan has helped in water and sanitation, health and nutrition, emergency preparedness and response, counselling and peace building.

Further projects have sought to increase agricultural production through grain distribution, repairing schools and providing temporary classrooms.
