Turrif Academy is a six-year comprehensive secondary school serving a large catchment area in the Formartine area of Aberdeenshire. Turriff has a very long history (a Grammar School was functional in the 16th century), but the present school buildings were opened in 1971. In addition to the regular curriculum, Turriff provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities aimed at developing the pupils’ abilities and talents. The school seeks to provide its pupils with effective skills and knowledge, to enhance their confidence, self-discipline, sense of responsibility and respect and concern for others. Turriff also aims to foster an open relation with parents, offering them information on a regular basis and involving them in the school’s policies and projects.
