The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation, providing assistance without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. The Federation’s mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilising the power of humanity.

Since 1982, the Comoran Red Crescent Society has worked with the Ministry of Health of Comoros to respond to the population’s health needs and undertaken capacity building such as training on basic health care and basic hygiene measures to combat the spread of epidemics. It also provides training for young people to engage in income generating activities and provides training in first aid and preparedness training and disaster response.
