The Hong Kong Social Welfare Department established a central office for Volunteer Service to develop volunteer service in a more coordinated manner though the launching of a Volunteer Movement. The objectives of the Volunteer Movement include building a caring community, and maximizing community resources. The Volunteer Movement website allows individuals to search service opportunities with charitable organisations and provides extensive information on volunteering in Hong Kong.
