Focus Humanitarian Assistance is an international group of agencies established in Europe, North America and South Asia that provides relief and support services during and following natural and man-made disasters, primarily in Asia and Africa. FOCUS helps people in need reduce their dependence on humanitarian aid as it facilitates their transition to sustainable self-reliance. Focus Humanitarian Assistance USA (FOCUS USA) is one of the five units that make up Focus Humanitarian Assistance (FOCUS). FOCUS USA has primary responsibility for natural disaster mitigation and preparedness. They support local communities by leading anticipatory planning, coordinating training and preparatory exercises, and sponsoring initiatives that assist communities to eliminate or reduce the impact of disasters.
