Clorox supports the American Red Cross

For generations, Clorox has supported the American Red Cross, donating money and products like Glad® trash bags, Clorox® bleach and other disinfecting cleaners to help the American Red Cross with its disaster relief efforts.

Clorox has pledged to help the American Red Cross continue its life-saving programs and services, from the sales of its namesake disinfecting bleach, disinfecting wipes and selected other products. The aim is to raise awareness of the importance of being prepared and preventing emergencies.

In 2011, thanks to the partnership Clorox Company and American Red Cross, 12,000 gallons of bleach were distributed across Pennsylvania to those who were beginning the long recovery process following flooding caused by Tropical Storm Lee. It is one of the most vital tools for disinfecting walls, floors and household items as people return home to start rebuilding their lives. Following the devastating earthquake in Osaka, Japan, in March 2011, Clorox also donated $100,000 to The American Red Cross International Response Fund to support earthquake and tsunami relief.

Under the banner “Dedicated to a Healthier World,” the goal of the Clorox and Red Cross partnership will be to encourage the education and training of families in disaster preparedness, infant and child CPR, first aid and other Red Cross lifesaving programs and services.
