Water.org is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization committed to providing safe drinking water and sanitation to people in developing countries.
Water.org challenges the traditional approach to assisting people in developing countries. Rather than simply raising money and implementing projects itself, Water.org works through a “Water Partnership” that includes donors, staff and volunteers and people in need of water.
Together, the members of the partnership help to tackle what is one of the most important global health problems, an unsafe and inadequate drinking water supply.
Donors are urged to provide consistent financial resources , staff and volunteers are encouraged to seek innovative and efficient solutions to meeting the global water supply needs now and in the future, and people in need of safe water are supported to take the lead in meeting their own needs.
