DAUGHTERS AND WIDOWS OF HOPE MINISTRIES

Unverified non-profit organisation

This Community Based Organization is entirely based on non profit maximization and change making programme by focusing on peoples’ mindset for the right direction and taking appropriate action. Buyende district is found in Eastern Uganda and bordered by water (River Nile) with a population of high poverty levels as a result of the majority people in the area taking on the economic activity of subsistence farming, fishing and sugar cane growing, petty businesses and increased rate of dropping out from school – majority being girls due to abuse of different forms by the parents, relatives, friends and neighboring families. This project is a long term ambition with the objective of minimizing the rate of dropping out from school and rescue the oppressed widows by providing practical solutions-being empowered socially and economically- Small Scale Industrialization Projects-Events Industry producer and Agricultural Demonstration Farm. We have been doing it on individual basis as good Samaritans by sponsoring a few needy girls in different schools and the oppressed widows and ended up a successful story. Upon this background, we came up with an idea to form a united stan d under this Community Based Organization for transformation and mindset change. Constructing the lives of the vulnerable poor not to depend on others for life.

Daughters and Widows of Hope Ministries is a Christian founded Community Based not for profit organization that was established in 2019 to purposefully to provide hope and empower widows, orphans and vulnerable children through transformational programs and initiatives aimed at improving the wellbeing of vulnerable individuals and families in the communities of Buyende district and promoting resilience and self-sufficiency.
The organization was founded by a team of Christian individuals who are passionate about creating an appropriate, intentional and holistic nurture of Children, single mothers and young people especially those living in the hard to reach vulnerable communities in Uganda. Guided by their core values; love, excellence, innovation, family focus, fun and respect for human dignity, the team works towards sustainable life-time impacts on the communities in which they intend to reach out to with support from a number of stakeholders from community development, skilling and health , education among others. We have started da hope Nursery and primary school and we many vulnerable children registered already, we rolled out the Programme Amidist financial challenges believing that we shall find some partners to stand with in arrangement.

It is against this background that Daughters and Widows of Hope Ministries is organizing their first ever Hope festival in one of the hard to reach districts in Busoga region known as Buyende. Driven by passion and their slogan “Hope to the hopeless”, the team intends to work with a number of already established Civil Society Organizations to support the cause as well as provide a number of services to the selected community. The key objective of the festival is to help the community realize their full potential through placing them to acquire the necessary critical skills for the 21st Century and also to create a platform for appreciating the registered success of the ministry.
