The Department for International Development (DFID) is part of the UK Government with responsibility for managing Britain’s aid to developing countries. In Brazil, DFID aims to promote pro-poor economic growth and sustainable development through projects and programmes which help people in the poorest regions to develop their livelihoods and to improve their health. DFID also encourages good governance and social inclusion of marginalised groups.
