Set up in 2004, Sahel Eco (formerly the country programme of SOS Sahel GB in Mali) is an autonomous African development organisation that focuses on the semi-arid lands of Mali and the West African sub-region. Sahel Eco assists farming communities to develop and strengthen sustainable strategies for poverty reduction, provides secure and fairer access to natural resources, supports decentralised local government structures and women’s credit groups, develops and puts into practice pro-poor policy and raises awareness about natural resource entitlements.
