Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) - Mauritania

FAO is one of the largest specialised agencies in the United Nations system and the lead agency for agriculture, forestry, fisheries and rural development. In crisis situations, FAO works in conjunction with the World Food Programme and other humanitarian agencies to help people rebuild their lives. The FAO is also a source of knowledge and information, providing behind the scenes assistance to help people help themselves. It has been present in Mauritania since 1961.
