Oxfam America is a member of Oxfam International, a confederation of 13 organisations working world-wide to combat poverty and to promote social justice. Oxfam has been working in Nicaragua since 1987, principally with small-scale producers, many of whom are women. Oxfam has focused on work around human rights and lobbying, and working with farmers to improve methods of production and sustainability.
