Caritas Sierra Leone works primarily in the northern region of the country through church and community networks. They help farmers to increase productivity through agricultural training and food processing.

One of the focus areas of Caritas’ work in Sierra Leone is continued support of families and communities after the civil war through peace-building, trauma counseling, and resettlement programmes.

Other activities include rehabilitating schools, promoting HIV and AIDS awareness, vocational training with young people and women, increasing access to primary health care facilities and preparing communities to minimise future emergencies.
