Tinada Youth Organization (TIYO) is nonprofit community based organization registered in 3/12/2001 as a youth group, then in later in 2014 promoted and registered as a community based organization to upscale and expand it’s program within the Lake Victoria region of Western Kenya. TINADA has been in the forefront of implementation of various projects within western part of Kenya including Mental Health program, Human Rights Based Approach, Youth Empowerment and Early Child Development program, Public Governance, Environmental Conservation and Advocacy Initiatives.
TINADA’s main approach is Family Driven Integrated Initiatives believed in using the family to family and youth to youth focused interventions to demonstrate and attain sustainable Health, economic power and concerned leadership.
Support partners and collaborators include DANIDA – Global South , USTADI Foundation, ON THE MOVE (Germany), LIVERO Consortium and LOPYO Network, LSU (Sweden), National AIDs Control Council, Global Network for Civil Society Organization, Civil Society Reference Group, International Federation of Neighborhood and Settlement (IFS) International Institute of Education (US) and KANCO, among others.
TINADA exist to promote Health seeking behaviour, integrity, glory of productive work and economically productive life among families living within the Lake Victoria Region of Kenya through Capacity Building, Integrated Health, Support services, Mentorship, Advocacy and strategic networking
They focus on disaster risk reduction, mental health integrated program , youth and teenage mothers empowerment and reproductive health, human rights and public democracy, street children support program, and environmental conservation
TINADA has a strong multi disciplinary Governing Council for overall governance operations. They also have full time qualified core management team led by Director who oversee and supervise various projects. This wider spectrum of skills and experience of TINADA staff assists the project to have impact in terms of delivery, financial management, institutional capacity and Monitoring and evaluation. The organization has a strong and stable financial and administration department, ensuring a sound financial management and accounting.
