CARE is one of the world’s largest private international humanitarian organisations, committed to helping families in poor communities improve their lives and achieve lasting victories over poverty. With programmes in over 72 countries, CARE touches the lives of over 30 million of the world’s poorest peoople. CARE has been working in Ecuador since 1962, helping to improve the standard of living among indigenous groups. Current programmes focus on encouraging bio-diversity, fair trade, water and sanitation, health, and environmental protection. CARE also provides emergency relief when necessary.
