Lutheran World Relief (LWR) works to fight poverty and promote a more just and peaceful world by helping people help themselves. LWR works with local non-governmental organizations on the ground in Niger providing both immediate food aid, and seeds to ensure a harvest. The organization trains farmers to adapt farming methods to the climate, and promotes access to training and credit for income-generating activities and small-business management. There is also an increasing economic growth and alliances among women farmers and entrepreneurs so that they can advocate for more decision-making power.
