The FBU is an Ecuadorian non-profit NGO that works in various areas of development. Their projects aim to improve agricultural and forestry production with an agro-ecological focus, to manage natural resources and train local communities in subjects such as: agro-ecology, environmental education, small businesses and institutional development The foundation also manages a volunteer program which invites volunteers to live and work in rural areas of Ecuador. The cultural exchange methodology focuses on equal interchange between community members and volunteers, with programs offering multiple opportunities to explore and learn about Ecuadorian culture, customs, and traditions.
