Garib Unnayan Sangstha is a Bangladeshi NGO that works with poor rural communities living on the flood plains in the south of the country. The organisation runs a number of programmes in partnership with international aid agencies, including a Special Programme for Food Security (SPFS), Greater Rangpur Agriculture and Rural Development project (GRARDP), a Disaster Management and Awareness programme, a Water and Sanitation programme, and a range of programmes funded by the Islamic Relief (IRB) UK.
The organisation distributes wheelchairs, provides education and training for women and undertakes relief and rehabilitation for victims of disaster, and also assists victims of domestic abuse.
