Lokadrusti, a non profitable voluntary organization, was registered on 28th February 1988 under the Societies Registration Act-1860.
Lokadrusti is committed to the fulfilment of its objectives. In the realisation of its goal Lokadrusti gets constant support from various national and international donor/funding agencies and the Government. The major thrust areas of Lokadrusti are as follows:
• Creating an enabling environment through organising awareness camps/Mass meetings, wall writings, distribution of pamphlets etc on different schemes and programmes of the Govt. and different developmental agencies.
• Promotion of Self Help Groups (SHGs) in every village around the thrift and credit activities and help the poor and marginalised women for their socio economic development.
• Promotion of farmers club for strengthening of farmers to initiate organic farming.
• Creation of people’s organisation and make them effective to run smoothly for self sustainability and wider impact in this region.
• Creation of land based assets and infrastructure for sustainable income.
• Provision of Revolving Fund and linkages of the SHGs and farmers group with the financial institution for assessing short term loan for implementing different IGA.
• Tracking of migration/bonded labour and involve them in different anti-poverty schemes and programmes of the Govt. to retain them in the villages.
• Skill upgradation of adolescent boys and girls and placement in different town, cities and industries.
• Life skill training for the adolescent boys and girls.
• Watershed development to create pro-poor, pro-environment and sustainable development through Natural Resource management.
• Lokadrusti believes that all children in the age group of 6-14 who are out of school are child labour and condemns any argument in favour of this social evil. Lokadrusti try its level best to implement RtE in an effective way.
• Running of bridge course and remedial classes for the drop-out and deficit learners to make them fit as per age appropriate classes.
• Organise the village community and the Children clubs for proper implementation of ICPS and provide safeguard to the entire children of the village.
• Working with children of the distress migrant parents through running of seasonal hostel with the support of Sarba Sikshya Abhijan(SSA).
• Promotion of Income Generating Activities through skill development programme.
• Creation of awareness on Nutrition and Health through organisation of village community, front line workers and service providers.
• Organising capacity building training, exposure visit, interface meeting of the farmers, SHGs members to create awareness on different schemes and programmes.
• Strengthening of local NGOs and CBOs through consortium approach to provide support for proper implementation of the govt. programmes and schemes.
