The MacArthur Foundation is a private, independent grant making institution dedicated to helping groups and individuals foster lasting improvement in the human condition. By providing grants and low-interest loans, the foundation fosters the development of knowledge, nurtures individual creativity, strengthens institutions, helps improve public policy, and provides information to the public, primarily through support for public interest media. The Foundation’s grant making in India is based on population and reproductive health work at the national level. The focus on young people is expected to increase the likelihood that they will make wise choices about their sexual and reproductive health.
