World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities in the fight against poverty and for social justice. World Vision has been working in Guatemala since 1976 and is currently involved in development work, education and advocacy. It runs a monitoring programme focusing on vulnerable children, works with partners on education programmes and runs a micro-enterprise development programme. World Vision is also the main recipient of the Global Fund against HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria. Special projects include a virtual school for children in remote areas, the Shalom Girls project focusing on gender equality, and family workshops aimed at encouraging non-violent child care.
