The Carter Centre is an organisation established by ex-President Jimmy Carter and his wife. The Centre works in partnership with Emory University and is committed to advancing human rights and alleviating unnecessary human suffering through a range of programmes in over 70 different countries. In Niger, the Centre focuses on health education and environmental sanitation. and is committed to working with the Ministry of Health to control trachoma and Guinea worm disease.
