The Church World Service (CWS) is the relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry of 35 Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican denominations. In Columbia, their focus is on furthering the rights of Afro-Columbians and other minority groups who have been discriminated against. Some 200 rural families – many of them Afro-Colombians – are taking part in a program which organizes food and security. To this end, they are receiving seeds, fruit trees, and agricultural tools.
