Action Aid is an international humanitarian development agency, helping to fight poverty in more than 30 developing countries. Action Aid works alongside poor and marginalised communities to help them recognise, promote and secure their basic rights, enhance their control over development work, and their ability to defend their interests. Action Aid has been working in Nepal since 1982. Current projects focus on women’s rights, education, food security, HIV/AIDS prevention and peace building.
In 2011, ActionAid Nepal manages 18 Development Areas (DAs)/Development Initiatives (DIs) incorporating 35 long-term partners.
