Founded in 1991 by the International Churches of Christ, HOPE Worldwide is a charity with international headquarters in Philadelphia. Its programmes, which helps more than two million people in 75 countries on a yearly basis, serves disadvantaged children and the elderly, provides education and delivers medical services in developing communities. The charity is also a recognised non-governmental organisation in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. In 1993, the organisation founded an office in Hong Kong, which coordinates programmes in the Mainland and provides services to immigrant children and seniors in Hong Kong.
