Yayasan Selaksa Sejahtera (Yasera)

Unverified non-profit organisation

Yayasan Selaksa Sejahtera (YASERA) is a non-profit humanitarian local organization founded by local Indonesians who envision healthy, self-sufficient, and flourishing families through community empowerment. Legally, Yasera is merely a social organization founded in November 2016. However, all Yasera’s project is a framework for the Integral Mission and aims for all families to live life to the fullest of God’s intended blessings. Staff members are required to participate in integral mission training. This approach has been embraced among leaders.

YASERA – with its 27 employees – works in the most vulnerable areas in Bali, Papua, Lombok, and Sumba since 2017 through an integrated project—training local leaders on the Transformation Model Curriculum to increase awareness and mobilize them. Community Empowerment serves as an important strategy to best serve the community in obedience to transformative work. We train and mobilize religious leaders to share and practice transformation activities in their community. However, due to different contexts in all areas, the Transformation Model curriculum underwent the process of contextualization.
In Bali and Lombok, the partnership is conducted among pioneering religious leaders and contextual workers. A multi-year plan based on the community’s unique needs and capacities to ultimately help the community thrive is conceptualized. This resulted in the Integrated, Health, Empowerment, Livelihood, and Protection Program (IHELP), which uses a contextualized Transformational Model Approach based on the Bali context, majority Hindu, and on the Lombok context, majority Muslim.
In Papua, mobilization training focuses on potential church partners in doing the transformational work addressing malnutrition, HIV and AIDS prevalence, tribal conflict, domestic violence, and economic instability. Then, IHELP Papua aims to empower community members to become living testimony in their community. Meanwhile, in Sumba Island, with a similar context to Papua, the same strategy is utilized but with higher participation of the local government.
