The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is an international aid agency that works with communities and governments in 157 countries for the survival, development and protection of children worldwide. In Georgia, UNICEF’s activities include creating a national database of social and economic indicators, helping to decrease infant mortality rates, increasing vaccination programmes, improving the child welfare system, and helping to improve access to safe water and delivering essential health and education services to displaced women and children.
