Shramajibi Mahila Shikshya-O-Samity is a registered non-government and non-profit making organization promoted by a group of young people. This organization has been granted a FCRA certificate from Govt. of West Bengal for received foreign funding or donation. SMSOS has been working for the development of the women and children right from the beginning. The Organization is committed to the Development of rural needy people, children, adolescents and women.

Since the last one and half decades this organization has been working on rural tribal livelihoods programme, rural sanitation, skill development programme for vulnerable women sustainable livelihoods, women labour education awareness, child and adolescents care, prevention of early child marriages and protect domestic violence to girl child and adolescents. This is one of the leading community development organization of most backward Purulia district in India.

OBJECTIVES

1. To promote education and skill development training for the children, adolescents, youths and women.
2. To promote health through Social Behavioral Change and communications.
3. To eradicate poverty, illiteracy, old customs & beliefs, combat discrimination and other social evils.
4. To promote village economy through promotion of agriculture. Health, irrigation, village & cottage industry-empowerment of women under groups.
5. To mobilize & empowered people for social economic & cultural development.
6. To mobilize resource from individual donation, projects from Govt. departments, C.S.R. and Non-Government donor agencies to achieve those objectives.
