Association of Human Rights and Tortured Defenders (AHURTOD)
Unverified non-profit organisation
The Association of Human Rights and Tortured Defenders (AHURTOD) is a human rights and relief organisation founded in 2004 to protect Cameroon’s vulnerable and poor population. AHURTOD’s activities aim to defend men and women’s rights, to fight against child labour, exploitation, abuse and trafficking and to provide material, legal and socio-cultural assistance to victims of ill-treatment. Past and current projects include teaching human rights in schools, training in computer technology and small business management techniques for less privileged children, a small human rights resource centre (assembling a collection of printed documents and visual materials on human rights, democracy and child development), advocacy and lobbying on human, women’s and children rights, counselling and mediating services for youth and analysis of child labour cases.
