Caritas Internationalis is a confederation of Roman Catholic relief, development and social service organizations with the vision of building a better world, especially for the poor and oppressed. Caritas Costa Rica campaigns in support of human rights and the construction of fair and participative communities. It has teams responsible for six areas of work: human mobility, the family, prisoners, land rights, employment and health. Caritas focuses on political advocacy, aiming to improve social services and human rights for immigrants and seasonal workers, while giving support to prisoners and their families. It also works to raise awareness of children’s right to education and the consequences of child labor.
