The Asia Foundation is an American NGO committed to the development of a prosperous and open Asia-Pacific region. The four areas of particular interest to the Foundation are governance, law and civil society; women’s participation; economic reform and development; and international development. The Foundation has been working in Thailand for more than 50 years. Current programmes focus on enhancing secular education in Muslim schools, providing legal aid and economic assistance to tsunami survivors and legislative reform to protect minority rights.
