Diakonia is a Christian development organisation headquartered in Sweden. The organisation works with local partners for sustainable change in vulnerable communities in 30 countries world-wide. Diakonia has been working in Central America since 1980. Currently, the regional office works with partners in Latin America. In El Salvador, Diakonia works with 13 local NGOs, providing support to programmes focusing on local development, human rights, gender equality and social justice.
