The delegation’s main focus is the promotion of international humanitarian law (IHL) and other humanitarian issues with governments, security forces, academic circles, the media and civil society. It also provides relief assistance to communities affected by conflict, visits detainees and supports and works with Red Cross National Societies in the region. The delegation also directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted in Australia and nearby Asia and Pacific areas.
