The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is a Canadian public corporation that works with researchers from the developing world to find solutions to economic, social, environmental, and other problems. IDRC provides funds for applied research to be done by researchers from developing countries on the problems they identify as crucial to their communities. It also provides technical support to those researchers and fosters alliances and knowledge sharing.
