The Sebei Safe Motherhood Research and Training Foundation (SESMART) is a Ugandan NGO that works for pregnant women and their children, advocating for the reduction of morbidity and mortality of pregnant and breast feeding mothers through maternal audits, and research into peri-natal and child deaths. SESMART is currently involved in the collection and processing of data on the process indicators for monitoring progress towards maternal mortality reduction. The organisation also plans to train health workers to assist in its work.
