Social Accountability International (SAI) is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to improving workplace conditions and combating sweatshops. In 2008, Gap Inc. become involved in SAI’s Continuous Improvement in the Central American Workplace (CIMCAW) Alliance project (CIMCAW) project in Central America, which assists local Central American apparel suppliers in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic in creating a better workplace.
