The STEER Foundation (Social Development, Technology, Environment, Education and Research&Releases Foundation) is an Indian NGO established in 1994. STEER works with and through young people to promote innovation and the advancement of knowledge for development. STEER has run literacy projects for girls, and has set up 10 learning centres for school dropouts. The organisation has also conducted surveys on water. STEER promotes social justice, and aims to improve the lives of people in the non-formal sector including labourers, marginal farmers, unemployed youth, and street children.
