International Trade Centre (ITC)
Unverified non-profit organisation
Formed in 1964, ITC has been the focal point within the United Nations system for trade related technical assistance (TRTA).
ITC’s mission is to enable small business export success in developing and transition-economy countries, by providing, with partners, sustainable and inclusive development solutions to the private sector, trade support institutions and policymakers.
The organisation’s work focuses on:
- improving the ability of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to integrate into the world trading system,
- enhancing the abilities of trade support institutions to better support them, and
- increasing the ability of the private-sector to advocate their priorities to policymakers, and have these reflected in trade policy.
The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) serve not only as a critical benchmark for ITC, but their goals underscore the fundamental reasons for the existence of ITC.
