Sundar Dhoka Saathi Sewa(SDSS) began as the vision of Kosh Bilash Adhikari who is himself is wheelchair user. He, along with the group of people of Sundar Dhoka, felt called to serve the community. Many members of the congregation of Sundar Dhoka are disabled in some way – including paraplegics, ex-lepers, widows- and from this came SDSS.
SDSS in a non-political, non-governmental, non-religious and non-profit organization registered in 2065 B.S. at the District Administration Office of Lalitpur and affiliated to the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. SDSS is an organization that reaches out to people with disabilities, the sick and poverty stricken. SDSS continues to have a special heart for those whom society calls disabled and the patients who come to Kathmandu for specialist medical care, surgery and rehabilitation.
