Hepatitis Aid Organization is a patient led civil society organization with a mission to engage, strengthen & empower communities in the fight against hepatitis in Uganda.
HAO’s approach is by empowering communities to be hepatitis competent i.e. hepatitis patients, caregivers, families, health workers, religious leaders, youth, girls, women and other community members without stigma and/or discrimination to be. HAO also lobbies for affordable & accessible hepatitis services for all living no one behind.
HAO has engaged in several awareness and advocacy campaigns at local, national & international levels through social media, radios, televisions, newspapers, magazines, vocational & secondary schools, churches and community health facilities providing free health talks and free hepatitis services to the community .i.e. screening, vaccination and viral load among others.
