International Youth Council - Yemen (IYCY)

IYCY is a leading, independent and neutral non-governmental organization, working nationwide at different levels to promote equitable, inclusive, safe, resilient, sustainable development, deliver humanitarian assistances, and other relevant interventions for a better life and wellbeing of vulnerable communities and individuals. IYCY double its efforts to build and implement science-based, comprehensive, integrated projects in several sectors at all Yemen levels that addresses the most critical needs of the most vulnerable populations to reduce inequality and poverty in communities and towards attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). IYCY access and trust was gained during its project’s implementation in very critical times where no other organizations where able to reach vulnerable people or take the risks to provide lifesaving services to the most vulnerable affected people.
Since the establishment of the IYCY in 2012, IYCY has played a key role at the local, national and International Levels. IYCY has been implementing several integrated, economical and sustainable projects in Yemen including health care, reproductive health, nutrition, food security, agriculture, and livelihoods, environment, energy and climate change, water and sanitation, solid waste management, land governance, youth, adolescent and women empowerment, protection, education, shelter/NFIs, CCCM as well as gender, peace, reduce local conflict and strengthen social cohesion. IYCY tackles the underlying causes of poverty and social injustice in order to deliver lasting change in the lives of poor and vulnerable people.
At the International Level, IYCY has been participating in many international events and get accreditations and memberships from different UN agencies and other international NGOs.
