The Africa Intercultural Development Support Trust is a non-profit organization that is involved in supporting disadvantaged children, youth and vulnerable groups that integrate them in education, entrepreneurship development through technical training solutions, including energy efficiency and training, waste management and agriculture sustainability for food security. The organisation seeks to establish the Youth Production and Entrepreneurship Centre to enable these groups to engage and become self-sustaining thus job opportunities creation and market. AIDEST currently operates in two district i.e. Mukono District where it has a youth mobile training workshops that deals in training youth in entrepreneurship and innovations in waste management and solar energy construction and distribution in private and public sector. Another operation area is Kituntu in Rakai District, where it carries out food production on land approx. 8 acres. It’s at this site, the organization is planning to construct a Youth project as explained above.
Education and Community Dimension: The sector is deeply
embedded in the society in which it is located—reflecting on the nature and intensity of social problems, the opportunities for citizen participation afforded by decision-making structures, the interests and resources. The structures are based on skills relevance of the personnel with expertise in any particular fields. The organization has built this model since 2013, with form of partnership creation for sustainable development since the training programme began. The organization possess an administration with team that work full-time, part-time and volunteers are allowed to participate in the programme. The organization is less dependent on external consultancy, it has already a team of innovators, trainers, who possess experiences of over 10 years. The staff /personnel acquired training in Electrical Engineering, Project Planning and Management, Administrators / Financial Assistants, Secretaries, Tutors, Innovations, Computer training in Programming / Applications. The organization also has in place a programme – training of trainers in the process of youth becoming surrogate mentors to other youth at a later stage through peer-to-peer model.

Local partners include: 1. NFLUCO Youth Build delivers both social and economic transformation of youth as social entrepreneurs. 2. Balamu Community Outreach Programme, involved in education for the less-privileged children, WASH programmes, sports for wealth through inspiring young people both physical, social, mentally and economic development. 3. Other partners are local community leaders and members who are the first beneficiaries of these programmes. 4. Education institutions including universities, tertiary, vocational. 5.
