Cape Mental Health is a South African NGO that works to improve the lives of children and adults with mental disabilities and mental health needs. The organisation runs 22 community-based projects in over 100 communities in the Western Cape. These projects help people adjust to their disability, adapt to family and community life, and acquire the coping skills they need to achieve their greatest level of independence. Services provided by the organisation include the promotion of mental health and public education, social development. an employment service and a school mental health programme. Cape Mental Health also runs a rehabilitation project, and provides training for people with disabilities.
The organisation is staffed by paid staff and a large corps of volunteers.
