TWADDI (Tororo Women and Disability Persons Development Initiative) purpose and vision is transforming the community which is much stricken by poverty, illiteracy, and poor sanitation and environmentally destructed. TWADDI was established as an autonomous organization but coordinate and work with other organization to undertake development programmes. It is primarily concerned with the problems faced by village communities, particularly the rural people, and the landless and small & marginal farmers. The organization is committed to rural work based on an appreciation of many positive features of rural life and society. It sees a big challenge in revitalization of the rural economy whilst strengthening its ecological base. One of the constant endeavors of the organization is to motivate ‘knowledge’ as a social function to serve the need of ordinary “locals” people in rural areas.

Sources of Funds
Tororo Women and Disability Persons Development Initiative (TWADDI) accepts funds from various sources that respect the national and international legal framework. Since establishment of the organization the funds to run the organization have been mobilized from the members and contributions from community resulting from the good work undertaken among the people.
Long-term Role
The organization is developing an education ‘training’ centre for village-level workers of rural social-action groups, environmental and health organizations and other rural institutions interested. Training issues related to social, health, environmental conservation and economic development is the long-term focus of the organization. Applied appropriate techniques and knowledge carried out by the organization is intended to develop people-oriented programmes and ‘feed in’ the training experiences into its teaching programmes. Grassroots ‘action’ undertaken by the organization is confined to rural villages in Tororo district.
