THE LEARNING SOCIETY: CENTRE FOR INDEPENDENT RESEARCH AND LIFELONG LEARNING
Unverified non-profit organisation
The Learning Society is both a social and an intellectual global community of lovers and seekers of truth and ideas; it is a community of critical and creative scholars and researchers from all fields of learning who are passionate about and are committed to lifelong learning and independent research.
TLS is made up of three Houses, namely, The House of Arts and Humanities, The House of Social Sciences and The House of Natural Sciences – all of which are dedicated to conducting groundbreaking research in their respective Houses and fields of learning. Research Fellows undertake and conduct rigorous research on idea/s of interest and concern either as individuals or as a group, a collaborative research even as it strives for the integration of all learnings and knowledge.
At TLS we engage in critical dialogue with all The Houses on different subjects or areas of concern and interest and in doing so, we learn to understand ourselves best, affirm and tolerate our differences and direct them to the building of unity in learning and in life, we create and share new insight on reality as whole.
TLS is also a centre for the incubation and development of ideas, new and revolutionary ideas. We encourage our members to think and be creative and to freely share their creative and critical ideas no matter how absurd they ma appear to them and/or to the established order and system, the status quo. We support and develop ideas – both scientific and non-scientific ideas that are particularly new and revolutionary in nature and character, and with the power to bring about the desired end.
All our research programs are do-it-yourself studies. We offer an independent research study in all The Houses each from its particular field of learning. This is not intended to be an academic program for academic award in a traditional sense, but rather as an opportunity to undertake, explore, understand and produce an independent original research work for the creation, publication and dissemination of ideas, data and information for the promotion of learning and excellence in research and ultimately, for the creation of The Learning Society! In addition to this, The House of Arts and Humanities offers Research Diploma in Theology, and in Philosophy and Ethics of Education.
Please note: our research programs and activities are open only for fully registered members.
