Kashmir Relief Development Foundation (KRDF) is a Non-Governmental and Non-profit organization. KRDF had been working form the day the devastating earthquake that hit Kashmir and northern areas of Pakistan on 8th October 2005, but registration completed only in 2011 . KRDF was also established with the aim of community development in KPK and Azad Jammu Kashmir regions in Particular without any discrimination of race, caste, religion, culture and social status of residents among society. KRDF’s current plan is to expand its services in other areas of Pakistan.
KRDF is committed to building the capacities of rural communities, empowering them to harness their true human, social and economic improved quality of life. KRDF urges to use different method for reducing the poverty among rural areas. This includes building their capacity through employable vocational skills training to enhance their income generation. Another plan of KRDF to help rural communities is to develop linkages with necessary government line departments. Lack of financial resources can be resolved through a micro credit programme.
KRDF visualizes last but not least, through raising their awareness about their rights and empowering them to make sure a sustainable and positive economic change in their lives. To support this colossal target, KRDF is building a strong team of development professionals not only within but across the country and region including government staff, elected members of the local bodies, civil society and corporate sector to ensure that they have clear understanding of development objectives and methodologies.
KRDF major focus are on the following sectors: Social Mobilization, Advocacy, Human rights, Vocational training Centers, Sustainable Livelihoods, Micro Finance programme, Water and sanitation, Health and nutrition, Qurbani programmes, Emergency Relief programme, Disaster Shelters and constructions and School projects.
