Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) is a service provided by the Government of Kenya, established to promote, establish, equip, manage, maintain and develop libraries in Kenya so as to enhance citizens’ reading and information seeking habits, and therefore sustain literacy.

The service receives book donations from various donors, stocks them in national libraries, as well as donating them to local organisations in need of book resources. It also subsidies the cost of education in areas and communities which have lagged behind in this respect due to lack of learning facilities.
