The Oneness Development Institute (ODI) is a grassroot organization dedicated to make peace, human rights and holistic development a reality in Democratic Republic of the Congo through training, research, consultancy, advisory and advocacy. ODI is recognized and registered by the government of DRC.
Vision: To see women and youth empowered to transform their lives and society.
Mission: To work in partnership with Religious Originations, NGOs, and other stakeholders to train and support people who are among the most vulnerable, including those facing the challenge of war and HIV and AIDS in Democratic Republic of the Congo.
ODI offers training that promotes:
-Inter faith dialogue and conference
The purposes of the program are:
a. To bring leaders of all religions background and other stakeholders together to worship, study and act upon God’s justice, peace and love in the church and the world, to unite them in order to leave a peaceful world as a legacy for future generations.
b. To empower religious leaders to act and to stop war and conflict between groups in DRC.
-Justice, Peace and Conflict Resolution
This program equips a new generation of leaders in a positive resolution of conflict, whether the conflict is national, church related, in working place, in school or university, in community or family, in Non-Government Organizations or enterprises. Participants are empowered to reduce violence, discrimination and address the human right in the community and improve heath and livelihood.
-Women Leadership Development
The course empowers women leaders from different religions backgroung, NGOs and other stakeholders to improve their quality and skills in leadership development and management in order to be more competent in their duties.
-Youth Leadership Development
The program develop new generation of leaders to become catalyzers of peace and prosperity in DRC as well as in Africa. Participants are prepared to work with individuals, families, groups, community development and manage youth project.
-Children Leadership Development
Child rights and protection aim to: (1) give awareness on the fundamentals convention of the rights of the child. (2) Provide a safe and creative atmosphere for children to meet and develop and (3) offer children a wide range of creative activities such as sport, music, arts and excursions for peace. (4) Create hope and faith in a spiritual atmosphere.
Medical support, care and training in HIV and AIDs prevention, Malaria, TB, sexual transmitted deseases … and counselling ministry were provided to help women , youth and children heal from trauma, rebuild their life and become confident, active participants in their community and in building peace.
ODI focus on women, youth and children who are most affected by violence and extreme poverty and suffer the most stigma and discrimination.
