Argentina Humanitarian Customs Regulations

This document was submitted in response to a questionnaire distributed by Global Hand regarding humanitarian customs information. It provides regulations for importing humanitarian aid into Argentina.

Required Documents

  • Certificate of Donation issued by the Cáritas Diocesana or country of origin. If the donor were not Cáritas, they will have to transact this certificate in the respective Cáritas Diocesana of the country of origin of the donation. This Certificate of Donation, must be legalized by the Argentine Consulate in the country of origin and later certified in the Argentina Chancelry;
  • Disinfection Certificate for the donation of used clothes;
  • If the donation is of medicines, they must not contain narcotic drugs. It is important that the medicines do not exceed the use-by date;
  • Packing list: the content of the donation must be always declared.

Tax Exemption

For humanitarian cargo, no taxes are levied.

Other Info

It is responsibility of the final addressee, to make sure the necessary documentation arrives in due time at national Cáritas. . Each import will be of a maximum of two (2) containers,not more than five (5) imports per year for a same addressee to be made. The expenses caused by the imports, by storage, packs, rent of containers, etc., are for the exclusive responsibility of the final addressee.
